Our sailors, from seasoned experts to first-time adventurers, navigated choppy waters and even spotted dolphins on the Visa-GB Cross Channel 2025 trip. This incredible journey highlights the power and joy of sailing, and we can’t wait to do it all again next year!
This more advanced event includes offshore sailing with night passages, and called in to Cherbourg, St Peter port in Guernsey as well as remote Braye Harbour in Alderney.
Visually impaired Sailors Peter Bosher, Natalie Wright, Anita Davies and Elsie Wilcox all fully participated and were hands on in all aspects of the running of the boat, from hoisting the mainsail, to passage planning, helming, sail trimming, victualing and cooking, plus even doing the boat cleaning, all guided by our wonderful Skipper Rick Smith, and sighted crew, Billy Forsyth and David Muldoon. The feedback from Natalie below says it all !
Feedback from Natalie Wright
A wonderful time was had by all. I certainly enjoyed getting the boat up to 13.5 kn at one point. Yes, we had 6 kn of tide with us, but the feeling was so exhilarating and empowering. It was drizzling and my face was soaked. My eyes were full of rain, but I didn’t care. I thoroughly enjoyed it. What a wonderful trip, and I’d love to do it again. I also became the main lady putting up the main sale and putting it down again, absolutely fantastic. Yet again,
A big thank you and a big shout out go to Rick, David, and Billy for making this trip such fun and such a joy. I would love to do it again sometime. We all had a fantastic time.
