Ahoy shipmates, hope you’re all hail and hearty
So we’ve slipped gently into July, the water butts are brimming with rain water, the oilskins hanging on the peg and we’re ready for the off! But before you leap across the gangplank we’ve got some news to tickle your interest and projects a plenty, so read on.
There’s been a change on the top deck of the good ship Visa-gb, young Edward Kitchen has handed over the wheel after his 12 month passage steering us through some turbulent waters. Great job Eddie and thanks, a big task to navigate the change from Colin Fowler the founder, easing his steely grip from the tiller, to the new look Visa-gb we have today. Mind you we’ve not let him slip overboard, no sir, he’s now got the key to the money box safe and secure in his new role as treasurer – a Yorkshireman in charge of the funds, security personified!!
So the question on the tip of your tongues is of course who’s now on watch? Well we are delighted to announce that, with very little arm twisting, we have a new and very smartly turned out figure filling the captains uniform. Anil Kanani has now got his steading hand on the wheel, so join us in giving Anil three loud ‘Hurrahs’ for stepping up, he’ll do a great job for us and we know he can count on your support as well.
The committee are delighted he accepted the role, and have now doubt that we can all sleep soundly on our off watches, with Anil navigating us on a safe passage. On top of this we’ve also got Super Sue, your favourite membership secretary, taking on the vice chairmanship. With Anil and Sue leading the way the troops will not only be well fed and watered, but have their ever need tended too, readying them to leap ashore to promote the Visually Impaired Sailing Association throughout the land.
Next we’ve got our planning, preparation and projects perfectly primed!
