June and jumping!

Ahoy Shipmates, hope you are hail and hearty!

So following the last few glorious weeks it seems like someone has turned the heating off, so it must be time to talk sailing and sailing stuff. Here at the good ship Visa-gb there has been scheming and planning like you would not believe – well actually you would if you enjoyed one of our trips recently, much chat, lots of cuppa’s (at a distance of course).
So what’s new we hear you shout at your screens, is there hope for us stuck in our sitting rooms? A good and very well aimed question and the answer is yes and no. Have you heard the daily briefing? Ask another question and we’ll give an answer to something completely random. Wasn’t there a two Ronnie’s sketch along these lines??
We do have some amazing plans for next year and you can read all about them on our website. We’ve also got to get our supporters hats and scarves ready to give our Patron, Pip Hare, a rousing send off in her world conquering trip starting this November. I am sure we, or hopefully you, can pen a suitable supporters song we can sing as we hang over the guardrail to welcome her back next year.
You may also have heard the great news that the dates for Blind Week have been announced, 12th to 19th June next year, out of the sleepy and delightful Lymington – going to be great!
Now listen up, we’ve got Scotland, Round the Island, we’ve got The Royal Escape and Sea Vision all happening next year and we need some help on getting it all topped and tailed. So it’s time to put the knitting aside, sharpen your pencil and trawl your diary for the occasional hour or two to help your mates get ready for a bumper bonanza 2021.
So what can I do, we hear you ask? Well thank you and we’d love you to do a little of this and a little bit of that.
We’d love someone to help super Sue talk to our new members, or help keep the records up to date. Interested?, nothing formal or too time consuming so give Sue a call on 07767717440
Lofty is currently chatting to organisations that support the Visually Impaired and it would be great to get him a little bit of help finding names and getting addresses. Couple of hours here and there, Lofty’s number is 07854245276 so give him a call for a quick chat.
Alan is beavering away with surveys and question to our plucky and completely wonderful volunteers – is there anyone you might know or a sailing club near you that might have a few hidden treasures amongst it’s members? You do – well call Alan on 07398040881.

There’s more and this is a big one!
As you know our Sea Vision 2021 journey is all about visiting major towns along the South and South West Coast, it takes in Blind Week as well. We want the Visa-gb yacht to arrive in each stop with flags flying and crews smiling to a fanfare welcome, so if you’ve got passion for project coordination and a bit of time you’re the one for this. On top of this is great chance to get stuck into a big project and make a real difference. We are also able to offer some financial reward for your time, can’t believe I just said that out loud! But seriously this is an opportunity for someone to do a meaningful piece of work which we hope might look good on a c.v., and maybe, just maybe, could help with a future job application. Interested? Give Lofty a call on 07854245276 for a very informal chat.

So that’s it for now, this year’s summer holiday is up for grabs, can’t make our minds up whether to have a week in the sitting and a second in the bedroom or reverse the order? How about you??
Ready about me hearties, until we meet again
Best wishes for all at Visa-gb
