I am now retired but previously have worked as a community pharmacist and in a drug and alcohol addiction team.
My time is now spent between volunteering for Visa, The Tall Ships Youth Trust, a charity that offers trips for elderly and disabled people in Poole, as a school governor and the Church.
In addition my family keep me busy with DIY jobs.
My wife Fiona and I have two daughters and four grandchildren.
I first approached Visa when It’s founder Colin Fowler advertised for skippers in the yachting press. Having been involved closely with the charity both as a skipper and a fundraiser, working initially with our friend the late and great Lofty Sims, I know the difference that a sailing holiday makes to my visually impaired friends.
The voyages are always fun for me as well as them.
