Ahoy Shipmates!
On this wet and dark November day what better than to think ahead to next year’s sailing season. Yes, while you’ve been busy cleaning the barnacles from your oilskins ready for winter storage the good folk at Visa-gb have been plotting a course for our next adventures.
Usual rules apply so make that cuppa, dunk that digestive, and have a read of the following trips that are already in the bag. We need volunteers, crew and as many homemade cakes in readiness for an epic 2023.
1: Trip one.
Dates 28/04/23 to 01/05/23. 4 days. Start and finish at Cowes. A Solent based sailing trip with a cost of £200 (£50 per day) which covers all food onboard, you need to cover travel costs to and from the boat.
2: Trip two.
Dates 05/05/23 – 08/05/23. 4 days. Start and finish at Cowes. A second Solent blast sailing trip with a cost of £200 (£50 per day)
3: Trip three.
Dates 09/06/23 to 16/06/23. One week, Friday to Friday. Start and finish Neyland Marina, Milford Haven. Following last year’s successful trip to wonderful Wales we are delighted to be back in 2023. Three boats chartered for the week at the cost is £375 per person which covers all food onboard, you need to cover travel costs to and from the boat.
4: Trip four.
We have a boat from 04/07/23 to 19/07/23 our plan is to split the trip so we can offer sailing to as many members as possible, not yet confirmed but the plan is as follows:
Trip 4A: Start Tuesday 04/07/23 at Cowes, finish on Saturday morning, 08/07/23, at Town Quay Southampton. 4 Days cost £200 (£50 per day). Destination unknown, where would you like to go, wonderful Weymouth or charming Chichester?
Trip 4B: Start Saturday afternoon, 08/07/23 at Town Quay Southampton finish on Saturday morning, 15/07/23, at Town Quay Southampton. Possible channel island or west country trip. 7 days cost £350 (£50 per day).
Trip 4C: Start Saturday afternoon 15/07/23 at Town Quay Southampton, finish on Wednesday 19/07/23 at Cowes. 4 Days cost £200 (£50 per day). Destination, where the wind blows!
5: Trip five
Dates 20/08/23 to 23/08/23 start and finish at Cowes. Start and finish at Cowes. A third Solent based sailing trip with a cost of £200 (£50 per day)

The 2023 Round The Island Race, dates Wednesday 28/06/23 to Sunday 02/07/23. Start and finish at Haslar Marna, Gosport.
A Warm weather cruise early October for one-week, likely location Menorca, possibly two boats estimated costs £600 per person plus your share of food, mooring and boat fuel. In addition you will need to cover flights and transfers to and from the boat.
