Hello Shipmates, it’s good to talk!
If the pen is mightier than the sword I guess a WhatsApp message is as good as a decent spinnaker in a following breeze. So here’s a message from Super Sue, Membership sec, Vice Chair and all-round expert on keeping us all in touch, so read on:
“One of our new members by the name of Els Wilcox has set up an informal Visa-Gb members WhatsApp chat group.
All members both sighted (i.e. the volunteers) and visually impaired are invited to join. This is not an official group, and will not be regulated by Visa-GB , but we assume civilised communications from everyone at all times! If you would like to join please text Els on 07539 049159 and she will add you in. Please state your name in full the first few times you post so that people can link the phone number with a name, and your nearest town if you are happy to do this . You can also message one-to-one away from the main WhatsApp group if you want.
I’m hoping that in time we will have regional groups which will make socialising in person, and travelling together easier. Call Sue the membership secretary on 07767 717440 at any time for any further information”.
So there you go, come on you smart people and reach for your phones, or should be say come of folks reach for your smart phones?? Anyway, to repeat the number for the WhatsApp group set up by Els Wilcox it’s: 07539049159
By the way remember the new dates for Scotland, it’s been moved from May to September, 18th to 25th. Did you remember to wish our patron Pip Hare a Happy Birthday, Russell Crowe did? Pip’s almost there on her amazing world girdling voyage and will cross the finish line next week so give her a few more hurrahs!
