Visually Impaired Sailing Association, a registered charity and the Uk’s leading provider of offshore sailing for the visually impaired. The charity is run by blind and visually impaired trustees and delivers sailing trips in the UK and Europe with help from sighted volunteers.
The philosophy is the empowerment of those with a visual impairment to both run the charity, plan and deliver high quality sailing experiences for its members and for those taking part to not only sail the boats but run everything involved.
For 2021 and beyond we have an ambitious program of sailing trips and events planned and need help to deliver Sea Vision 2021, our flagship event next year.
The outline plan for Sea Vision 2021 is to promote the ability of the visually impaired and the skills and benefits gained through offshore sailing. The program includes visits to a number of ports along the South coast to promote the benefits of our activities, increase membership and to show more people in the visually impaired community the benefits of sailing. We will also be promoting the abilities of our community to potential employers by demonstrating what we can do.
To deliver this program we are looking for a self-motivated, well organised, computer literate person to help us, the outline job specification is as follows, please note this is a part time and temporary self employed position:
