We are delighted to announce that we will have one yacht in this years Blind Sailing Week hosted in Falmouth by the Royal Cornwall Yacht Club.
We’re doing things the Visa way! So the one week event is a three week sailing odyssey for us! We pick up our boat in the Solent a week before Blind Week starts, sail along the beautiful South Coast with stops along the way, these will include wonderful Weymouth, perky Plymouth and fabulous Fowey. We then cruise into Falmouth ready to go in the week’s fun and frolics of Blind Week. We then sail the boat back to the Solent with the joy of the prevailing winds blowing us gentle along (we hope!) so we spend a leisurely week cruising back. This gives berths for more Blind & Visually impaired sailors to take part in both the festival of sailing in Falmouth and a full part in the journey to and from Cornwall.
We are raising money thanks to Lofty’s great work with Tesco in Poole, we have a couple of other projects underway which we hope will raise enough funds to make the journey possible. Remember no one gets paid and we want to keep the costs for our Blind & Visually impaired sailors to an affordable level. If you can help us towards our target of £3500 please give what you can by pressing the donate button at the top of the page – thank you!
